Santee SprayGrounds

This morning’s playdate was at Santee Lakes and the Spraygrounds at the park. We have never been there before, but Jayders loves playing in water so I knew he would be about it. We pull up & first thing I see is a BUSLOAD of kids…of course a daycamp also decided today would be the perfect day for a spraygrounds visit. Jayden was definitely a little intimidated by all the kiddos at first, but Madeline grabbed his hand {he loves getting bossed around by the older girls} and coerced him into the waterpark…he was totally hooked after that J

Packin’ Cukes

Yesterday we got 10 pounds of pickling cucumbers along with our usual box of CSA produce. Good thing Nani & Pops were on hand to help out with this project; one {Pops} to play with Jayden, and the other {Nani} to help pack & pickle the cukes! This was a pretty long process, but in 5-6 weeks we should have some delicious pickles {and LOTS of them!!}.

Best Thing About Going to Sea World = The Cow?

Last week Jayden & I went to Sea World {turned out to be military appreciation day, which = crowds, which = not so awesome}, and despite the people traffic we had a great time watching the dolphin show and checking out the new Turtle Reef.

But the best part came on our way home…we made a pit stop at one of my favorite places…Chick-Fil-A! Yummmm. And I thought Jayden’s highlight of the day would be all the cool animals we saw at Sea World, but instead he couldn’t get over the Chick-Fil-A cow that paid us a special visit during lunch. He was soooo excited about this cow…

Baby Sprinkle…Take Two!

Last weekend my church threw me a lovely little baby shower…this little girl is already so loved and she hasn’t even made her debut yet! How adorable is that diaper cake??? I am definitely getting excited for this little one to ‘Grace’ us with her presence…one more week!! J Maybe…

Worst Blogger Ever

Last night Jason called me the worst blogger ever…which is totally true at the moment. I honestly thought that being off work would turn me into the BEST blogger ever. But for some reason not sitting behind a computer all day makes me even more hesitant to pick up the computer at home. That being said, I’ve got lots to catch up on…so bring on the posts J

QT With My Jayder Bug!

This is my second week of Maternity Leave & I am soaking up every last minute of this “time off” before the baby arrives. And I am experiencing for the first time what it would be like to be a full time mama and I am having so much fun spending lots of one on one time with Jayden…something that might be scarce in a week or two.

Between playdates, bible study, pool time, cleaning, preparing for Gracie, shopping & errands we have kept ourselves super busy {and I was worried about getting bored, ha!}…and last week Jayden & I visited the Santee library & he got himself a little arm tat!

Sometimes I really do wish spending time with this sweet little kiddo was my full time gig J

July 4th Yummies

Since I am officially in catch up mode here, I thought I’d share some of the yummies we had on the 4th of July {especially since the cupcakes are taking a sever hiatus!} We had a very small gathering of family over for some food, drinks & pool time {Pool+ Living in Santee = Best Investment Ever}…and fireworks of course! And I made these patriotic mini trifles for dessert...Jayden put ALL of the blueberries on {he's my little baker in training!} J

Happy Belated Independence Day!

Gracie’s Digs

I’m pretty sure these photos were promised a looooong time ago, but all good things are worth the wait, ya? So here ya have it, Gracie’s nursery. Could it be any girlier???

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

Awkward

Having to pray with every sneeze, cough or laugh that I don’t pee my pants. Really??

Reading cards while people are staring at you waiting expectantly for your reaction…especially if it’s a mushy one.

The noise/grunting sound I make every time I have to bend over to grab something. I don’t even realize it until I’ve gotten back up & get weird stares from everyone around me…followed by “you ok?”

Awesome

Crushed Ice! Bad for the teeth, good for the soul

Considerate people. We were on the boat heading over to Catalina and a super awesome couple graciously offered us a couple of seats next to them since they could tell I was uncomfortable standing in the cabin. We chatted with them the whole ride over, which made the hour and 15 minute trek feel like 5 minutes!

Gift cards. Not only do you get to open a present, but then you get to go shopping! It’s like two gifts in one!

Holiday in Catalina

J and I took a little trip last week (that’s my excuse for the lack of posts lately!!) to Catalina Island to celebrate 5 years of blissful marriage together. We also dubbed it a babymoon, since it will be our last trip {and only trip for a very long time} before Gracie arrives and things get crazy! Neither of us had been to the island before, even though we both grew up in San Diego…but I heard it was a quiet, relaxing escape…just what we both needed!

The first two nights we spent in a cozy little hotel {and by cozy, I mean shoe box size}, which wasn’t disappointing because it met my expectations given the price. J and I had a great time hiking, exploring the little village, eating too much food, indulging in too many cookies and cream malts, watching movies, playing golf, and napping to our hearts content. Sleeping in is a luxury these days…so this simple benefit was enough to make me happy J

The last two days we spent in a very nice condo in the Hamilton Cove complex, which was pricey but definitely an upgrade from our first two nights. The highlight for me was driving the golf cart around town…makes me wish I could commute every day via golf cart! We had a great time swimming in the pool, relaxing on the balcony & playing a couple rounds of mini golf.

I can’t believe how quickly time has gone, but I am happier than ever & we have accomplished so much and have had so many adventures in our 5 years of marriage. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband that I get to spend the rest of my life with!
